Men’s Fashion : Tips For Winter
Stylish men can look forward to an exciting winter 2011/12 of strong colors as fashions take on a very practical look with versatile basics and beautiful accessories. You can select your style from the suave but genteel designs to the macho military look, but with an inclination towards the classical styles, beautifully updated. Fabrics in vogue this season are wool, velvet and leather, adapted to present gorgeous conservative ensembles or audacious masculine outfits. No one can get through the season without a lot of plaid in the wardrobe, at minimum a plaid jacket and several plaid shirts. Layering is taking the cue from the masses of color. Bold primary colors and earthy shades allow for extensive layering in contrasting and coordinating hues. Classic jackets and coats have been tweaked to show off waistlines under a figure-hugging fit. Large lapels draw on long forgotten styles while geometric shapes in various exotic fabrics, diamonds and beads add a touch of modernity. Cherry red jackets, accessories and, for the really modish, pants are strong this season. Bold blue, burnt orange and bright yellow are also strongly in evidence, not just in accessories, but in sweaters, jackets and coats. Beige complemented by gray or black brings a more distinguished look to ensembles for winter, especially teamed up with a classic camel overcoat. The militia look will appeal to all the macho men who seek the latest styles. Dark blue and black are the colors to look for in these ranges. Bomber jackets meet the quest for figure-hugging waistlines while the oversized jacket adds bulk to a man’s appearance. Heavy boots, long scarves and metal-framed sunglasses finish the ensemble. Trench coats in black, dark blue or even beige continue the military theme with long jackets being popular. The short trench coats, however, add a fresh young appearance to these stylish coats. The voguish man looking for a smart casual look will step out in a preppy ensemble of a classic pair of designer jeans, perhaps with turn-ups and a tweed jacket, fitted snugly to the waist. The crew-necked sweater and padded jacket is essential for cold days and the outdoors. For those who prefer something a little more formal than jeans, chinos are also very popular this winter. An alternative to the preppy look is the English country gentleman outfit. Look out for tweed blazers, preferably with leather elbow patches, plain waistcoats and check, or plaid, shirts. Complete the look with corduroy trousers and the Chelsea boots made popular by the Rockers. While earthy colors are in, do not forget to include a Scottish plaid in your accessories. Designers were divided about hats for this season but those who did add them to their collection focused on fedoras, trilbies and Homburgs in primary colors. The leather shoulder satchel and a wide selection of scarves adds the final touches to an exciting look for Winter 2011/12. Learn more – Mens Clothes Shops
